2012 QB Brian Cleary to Walk-On

Michigan lands a preferred walk on for 2012. Pro Style QB Brian Cleary out of University of Detroit Jesuit.  He's a 2-star rated player and is 6'3" and 205 pounds.  It's doubtful that he'll see much playing time in Ann Arbor, especially with Denard Robinson, Devin Gardner, Russell Bellomy, and 2013 recruit Shane Morris, but his talents do bring an advantage for the Wolverines' future teams.

Clearly will be a great add for depth and increase the competition level for all the quarterbacks on the team.  He's got a great arm and good physical tools. He's rated as the #114 pocket passer in the country.  He wasn't "heavily" recruited by any means, which one can see from his walk-on status, but there's no reason to think that he doesn't have some useful tools for Michigan.

Teams recruiting Cleary the hardest were Central Michigan University, Eastern Michigan, Indiana, and MSU. Seems to be the Michigan coaches continue to dominate Little Brother in the recruiting game. Cleary chooses to walk on at Michigan instead of going somewhere like Central or Eastern where he probably could have gotten a scholarship.  I personally am a big fan of guys like this because they are historically hard workers and great team players.  Example:  Jordan Kovacs, who started as a walk-on at Michigan just a few seasons ago.

I think Cleary is a great addition to the team and if you haven't really heard of him I threw in some of his highlight film so you can check out his work:
